Live in the City of Lyndhurst. 2.) Own and occupy your home. 3.) Are A) Elderly, B) On a fixed income, or C) Handicapped. 4.) Agree to have a Home Safety Evaluation done by a Fire Department representative. Those submitting an Application For Smoke Detector are asked to have a copy of a current utility (water) bill along with a picture ID ready when they receive their smoke alarm(s). The smoke detectors are installed by on-duty firefighters at no cost to the resident. Donations New photoelectric smoke detectors and 9-volt batteries can be donated to help fund this life-saving program.
