"Kiwanis is a global organization with members of every age who are dedicated to changing the world, one child and one community at a time."
We have a local organization dedicated to the same,"Hillcrest Kiwanis." Our club represents six cities: South Euclid, Lyndhurst, Mayfield Heights, Mayfield Village, Highland Heights and Gates Mills. In addition to doing community events in these cities where we pour the proceeds we make back into these communities, we also donate our volunteer time to a number of places both within and outside of the Hillcrest communities. We also sponsor a high school volunteer group called Key Club both at Brush and Mayfield High School.
We have a regular dinner meeting/Board of Director's meeting following that (which all our welcome to attend) the second Monday night of each month. Dinner begins at 6:30 p.m., with the meeting following which starts at 7:00 and both are at the Lyndhurst Community Center. We also have a social event each month somewhere in the area that different members plan. Some of the regular Hillcrest activities where one may have seen us in the past are both at the Lyndhurst and South Euclid Home Days where we often sell both snow cones and powdered sugar waffles. We continue to participate in the Home Days when they are held, many of our members volunteer with the Wheels on Meals Program, we volunteer at the Cleveland Food Bank once a month and we hold a pancake breakfast the last Sunday in April and the first Sunday in May every year at Brush High School to name a few of our volunteer activities. We welcome interested people to check us out and maybe pursue membership. To hear more, please contact Dan Corrigan at 216-691-1405.
